چکیده

Of course, the answer to the question posed in the title is no, in general, but, surprisingly enough, yes in a significant situation to be detailed later. This paper aims to bring to the attention of the widest possible mathematical audience an elementary result, based on the theorem of differentiation of inverse functions, which extends the applicability of uniqueness theorems. Loosely speaking, it transforms every uniqueness theorem into an alternative version of it with the roles of the dependent and the independent variables interchanged in the assumptions. A remarkable one of such theorems is the version of Lipschitz’s theorem alluded in the first paragraph, but there are at least as many new possibilities as old uniqueness theorems.

Approximately $n$-order linear differential equations

We prove the generalized Hyers--Ulam stability  of $n$-th order linear differential equation of the form $$y^{(n)}+p_{1}(x)y^{(n-1)}+ cdots+p_{n-1}(x)y^{prime}+p_{n}(x)y=f(x),$$ with condition that there exists a non--zero solution of corresponding homogeneous equation. Our main results extend and improve the corresponding results obtained by many authors.

A RESEARCH NOTE ON THE SECOND ORDER DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION

Let U(t, ) be solution of the Dirichlet problem y''+( t-q(t))y= 0 - 1 t l y(-l)= 0 = y(x), with variabIe t on (-1, x), for fixed x, which satisfies the initial condition U(-1, )=0 , (-1, )=1. In this paper, the asymptotic representation of the corresponding eigenfunctions of the eigen values has been investigated . Furthermore, the leading term of the asymptotic formula for ...

Connections between C(X) and C(Y), where Y is a subspace of X

In this paper, we introduce a method by which we can find a close connection between the set of prime $z$-ideals of $C(X)$ and the same of $C(Y)$, for some special subset $Y$ of $X$. For instance, if $Y=Coz(f)$ for some $fin C(X)$, then there exists a one-to-one correspondence between the set of prime $z$-ideals of $C(Y)$ and the set of prime $z$-ideals of $C(X)$ not containing $f$. Moreover, c...
